All employees could have the right to flexible working in the future. The government outlined plans in the Queens Speech to extend flexible working. At the moment parents or carers of disabled adults can request more convenient hours. The government has promised to talk to businesses about the best way of introducing the proposals. Plans to raise national insurance for employees were also detailed. However the coalition government says the money will be used to cut tax bills for low and middle earners. The government also made a commitment to creating a fairer tax system.
